Side effects of long term use of tamdura caps. I am an active 73 year old man with adequate health. I have been diagnosed with BPH and need to take tamdura caps for three months

    Hi,

    I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

    Having been diagnosed with BPH (benign prostate hypertrophy) means that your prostate has been found to be enlarged during clinical and ultrasound examination. I was wondering what your PSA level was found?

    If you have been diagnosed just recently, at your age, drugs such as Tamdura are prescribed for 3 months to 2 years. After this periods, another clinical and ultrasound re-evaluation is required to determine if you should continue with oral pills or go ahead with surgery.

    If not indicated surgery, then, can take this medication for longer than 2 years.

    Now, you are wondering about side effects of Tamdura. It contains 2 main ingredients; Dutasteride and Tamsulosin. As for any other pills, Tamdura carries its own side effects too. Some of them are mentioned below:
    – severe side effects related to allergy reaction to its ingredients
    – ejaculation problems (difficulty in ejaculating)
    – gastrointestinal disturbances (such as constipation or diarrhoea)
    – general like headache, breast enlargement or tenderness, etc.

    I suggest to continue taking as prescribed by your doctor and keep regular follow ups with urologist.
