Type II Diabetes progress question

Question

Hello, I\’m male, 47 years old. Hello, I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes on Feb 2, 2018.

I started 1000 mg metformin bid, 500 mg 2x a day. Also adopted a whole food plant-based diet.

No meat or dairy. Just veggies, a little fruit, and legumes.

My fasting blood glucose at my Feb appointment was 321. It has averaged 108 for the last 7 day period.

How am I doing in this short period of time?

  1. Hello!
Thank you for believing us your concern!

I read your story carefully! You’re going very well! Has passed almost 1 month and the glycemic values has fallen 1/3. Keep it up! You are going very well!

Do not forget to do a HbA1C and to repeat it every 3 months, it is a good indicator, in addition to random measurements that you can do.

In terms of measurements, not only the measurements of fasting blood sugar are important, but also those before meals and 2 hours after meals.

The difference between before meal and 2 hours after meal should be approximately 40 mg/dl.
Diet must be accompanied by a regular daily physical activity.

Keep in mind that diabetes is a life-long disorder, so try to motivate your self to preserve the same regimen, if you continue with this steps every thing is going to be ok!
    Kind regards!

    Dr. Ruden
