Head bumps

Question

Bump on baby boy head no other symptoms. Baby is 2yr old, very very active and naughty. Yesterday was playing in bed and all of sudden jumped in the wall direction, head first. Beside crying for 3 minutes until i calmed him down there was no other symptoms. He had a bump, i applied ice covered in a cloth on the bump. today is still there(no bruise, no redness.) my worry is abt 2 months ago he was in the bathroom he went down and then suddenly get up and forgot the sink was above his head and hit. Same no symptoms just a bump. We been doctor they said he’s fine, but the bump Is still there after 2 months. Should i go A&E even if he had no symptoms eating/sleeping well, no vomiting or anything bad .. but the bumps scare me.

  1. Hello,

I do not see anything to worry about baby bump. Apart these episodes you remember, there might be other episodes you do not recall that your baby might have hit his head. This explains why the bumps are still there.

I think you should apply cold compresses only on the bumps (not ice) for 2 – 3 days after the hit. Then can apply alternating warm and cold compresses to reduce the swelling of bumps.

    Hope this helps.
