  1. Hi,

    I understand your concern.

Your auntie’s blood sugar level (bsl) of 418 is really high.
Immediate changes in her diet and lifestyle regimen should be started depending on her age and her health problems you are going through.
So, please mention what health problems she is having apart high bsl?
What meds is she taking? This is very important to understand why this high bsl and how to lower them?

To help with her diet, I’d suggest the following diabetes menu:
    1. Breakfast (around 7 – 7.30 am): a loaf of whole grain toast; scrambled eggs cooked in a non stick pan topped with low fat cheese or low sugar jam; can have a glass of low fat milk
    2. Snack time (around 10-10.30 am): fresh or dried fruits salad
    3. Lunch (around 12-13 pm): Beans soup with lean turkey white meat; a loaf of whole grain toast; can take a cup of orange juice or apple juice
    4. Snack time (around 4-4.30 pm): yoghurt mixed with fresh fruits (apple, banana, forest fruits)
    5. Dinner (around 6-7 pm): mushroom risotto
    6. Sometimes late dinner snack can help such as nuts or diabetes chips

    Hope this helps.
