  1. Hello,

    I understand your concern.

Cephalexin is an antibiotic of wide spectrum used to treat bacterial infection.
Sometimes, its use is associated with increased blood sugar. However, when you stop taking this antibiotic, your blood sugar will get back to normal again.

With regards to HBA1C level, please understand that it measures your blood sugar mean within the last 3 months.

Cephalexin is prescribed for non more than 10 days. So, if blood sugar is raised during the treatment days, it will get slowly reduced by the following days.

As you can see, if you make some calculations yourself, you’ll understand how it might affect your HBA1C.

Hope this answers your query. Let me know if you need other clarifications.
