Feel my heart beating when I am sitting or lying down
I have been experiencing what I believe are heart palpitations on and off for the last week or two.
I mostly feel my heart beating when I am sitting or lying down.
I am a 26 year old female who is overweight but stays somewhat active during the week while working as a preschool teacher.
Things can be stressful, so am interested to see if this is stress related. Just curious if I should be worried and wondering what is causing this.
Also wondering what I can do to make it stop.

Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
Indeed, there are various factors contributing to heart palpitations. In your case, specifically, I can mention:
– being overweight
– work overload/stressful
Now, before we can admit that these are the real culprits for your heart palpitations, I need to have a few more information regarding your health status and any lab test you might have run so far:
– any metabolic issue (thyroid? PCOS?)
– anaemia?
– what about your blood sugar levels?
– gastritis? acid reflux? any stomach problem so far (burning, burping?)
If you have any lab report, can send to me for a more detailed analysis.
For the moment, I can advise to:
– start to make healthy changes to your diet;
– do more physical activity
– try to lose weight; changes in diet and lifestyle regimen can help to lose weight
– limit/avoid caffeinated drinks; oily/spicy foods
– take chamomile tea
– supplements containing aloe vera, valeriana, passiflora, magnesium can help reduce stress and be more calm in facing daily life issues.
Hope this helps.

I do not have any issues with any of the medical symptoms you have listed above. When I am active and moving around the palpitations cease.
