Is heart fluttering a symptom for period

Question

My daughter is 12 yrs old she started menstruating normally about 1 yr ago ,

I want to know is fluttering a menstrual symptom, it happens to her during the day but not a lot as in the night, she’s suppose to get her period any day now, can that be one of the symptoms?

And yes she usually gets little headaches, sore breasts, lower back pain and little cramps

    Hello!
    Don’t be afraid! Fluttering, mood swings generally happens before menstruating. Estrogen is an important hormone, that plays a very important role during all the females life. It affects many systems, the brain is one of them.
    As close to the menstruation the more the estrogen level decrease, the more the possibilities of having fluctuations increase. Is the same mechanism as after menopause, in that phase estrogen level is very low.
    About headaches, sore breasts, lower back pain and cramps … all those are considered normal and physiological symptoms related to menstrual phase of the female’s cycle.

      Thank you, Dr.Ruden for taking time to answer my question and just wanted to let you know I took my daughter to the ER last night and they did all the test for her an EKG, chest X-ray, blood work and everything came back normal thank god my daughter is healthy, and they told me that her heart fluttering could be associated with her menstruation. Thank you so much
