My prostate was 33cc & I am on tamdura since four years

Question

My prostate was 33cc & I am on tamdura since four years. Will there be any problem in the long run. Dr.advised to continue untill surgery.

    Hi,

    Tamdura different from usual BPH drugs contains 2 active ingredients dutasteride + tamsulosine.It is one of the most prescribed drugs from urologists at the moment.

    Tamdura is meant to be used in long-term,Its safety is already proven and generally it is well tolerated besides some side effects that may occur especially in long-term usage.Generally its side effects are not very serious even when used for a long time and can be removed with other drugs.Tamdura side effects are reported only from a small number of patients.
    Some of its main side effects are:Alergic reactions,Constipation,
    Ejaculation disorders,breast enlargement,
    Diarrhea,
    Difficulty ejaculating,and
    Headache.

    Be careful to take the capsule at the same time every day and not to drink alcohol.

    If you experience one of its side effects,especially a continuous one,contact your doctor.
    I suggest you a consult with urologist,echographia of the prostate gland and digital examination also PSA,blood anduroculture tests every 6 months.
    As you are taking tamdura for a long time i suggest some additional tests for the condition of kidney and liver to be done at least once a year.
