Painless lip lump treatment
Question
Hi, I noticed a painless lip ulcer on my inner top lip about 3 days ago.
No pain no sensitivity and it has a strange greyish tinge to it.
What could it be?

Hello Lulu,
I understand your concern.
You are having a problem with a lip ulcer on you inner lip with a greyish tinge on it. It could be great if you send a photo of the affected ulcer to me so I can analyze myself.
However, as the appearance of the ulcer is greyish, I’d stop and ask a few questions:
– are you having fever at the same time?
– coughing?
– any virus infection symptom?
– have you changed any new food/drink recently: frizzy? rough food? use very hot/spicy drinks/food?
– do you use chewing gum regularly?
– have you changed your toothpaste: watch should not have sodium lauryl sulphate
– any recent trauma?
From what you are describing, it seems like aphthous stomatitis (canker sore) . Usually, they will heal in a week or non more than ten days. It is not contagious though. It might repeat after one/four months.
No known cause has been recognized so far. However, if you notice them often, should run a few diagnostic tests to determine the right cause including measuring the level of folate/vit.B and iron in blood.
Avoid frizzy/spicy/too hot foods/drinks. Apply glycerin of borax locally. Avoid toothpaste containing sodium lauryl sulphate.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further concern.
Don’t forget to send a photo of the ulcer to me.
